Celine Kear: Instructor

Celine Kear did her undergraduate work at Memorial University of Newfoundland and her graduate work at Laval University, Quebec. She is bilingual. Her main area of interest is the early novel and the role of women in the development of the novel.

She has taught a variety of courses, including  early British, Canadian and  American women novelists as well as more general courses on 18th and 19th century writers. Another area of interest is Manitoba writers and she has lectured extensively on the subject.

She is co-convenor  of the Winnipeg branch of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA), an organization devoted to Regency Studies, and she is  past- president of the Winnipeg  branch of the Canadian Federation of   University Women.
