Jason Syvixay: Instructor
Jason manages the Strategic Initiatives & Public Relations efforts with the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ, a member-driven organization that advocates on behalf of its 1,400 business members for continued and sustained downtown renewal.
Equipped with an extensive network comprised of media, business and community/government leaders, Jason is highly skilled and effective in all facets of public relations, including but not limited to: research and writing, branding/identity, media relations, social media marketing, program development/evaluation, and strategic planning. He has fundraised over $220,000 to help support employment programs for our city’s homeless, supporting the BIZ’s Change for the Better program.
He holds a B.Sc. and B.A. from the University of Winnipeg, and volunteers his wide range of abilities and knowledge to projects that aim to positively impact our local and global communities. He serves as Treasurer of the Winnipeg BIZ Association and is a Board Member of Studio 393 and the University of Winnipeg Alumni Association. Jason has also spearheaded charities and events that support efforts to end homelessness within Winnipeg’s inner city and supports international humanitarian efforts through his work with The Wasichana Fund, an organization that supports at risk girls in Kenya.
