Katherine Breward: Instructor
Katherine Breward, MBA, PhD, is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business and Administration, University of Winnipeg. She earned a B.A in Sociology from the University of Guelph, a B.Ed in Adult Education from Brock University, a MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University, and a PhD in Organizational Behaviour from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. Prior to returning to academe Katherine spend over a decade working in the software industry, first selling enterprise resource planning and database solutions to corporate executives and later providing sales and presentation skills training to new hires. Katherine began working with the immigrant community on settlement and acculturation strategies in 2002, when she helped conduct research assessing attitudes towards immigrants in Waterloo region. Since then she has sat on the board of directors of several non-profit settlement service agencies and shas conducted research on factors associated with successful immigrant adjustment to the workplace. Katherine's research has appeared in the Proceedings of the Academy of Management, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: An International Journal, and has been published as a CERIS (the Metropolis project) whitepaper.
