Paul R. Therrien: Instructor
Paul R. Therrien, BA, M.Ed., CPHR-Retired, is a human resources professional with the Chartered Professionals in Human Resource of Manitoba and holds a Master of Administration in Education, along with a Bachelor of Arts.
Paul has over 40 year’s extensive experience in senior HR roles in health care, aviation and food services fields, as well as extensive consulting experience in the public and private sectors with profit and not-for-profit organizations. With a background in recruitment, labour relations, training and development and performance management, he also has hands-on experience in benefits administration, employee communications, management coaching, program design and development, and occupational health and safety. He has negotiated some 100 collective agreements across Canada. From strategic planning, vision and mission formulation he has also written policy and procedure manuals, job descriptions, monthly bulletins and employee handbooks. A former teacher at both the high school and university level, he is a dynamic trainer and public speaker always seeking to involve his audience. He is often called upon to comment on current HR issues on CBC, CTV and CJOB.
He is past president of the Manitoba Society for Training & Development, past president of the Human Resources Management Association of Manitoba and former Director of the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Manitoba Association of Parliamentarians, Secretary of his Condo Board and on the Board of Directors of the Manitoba Chapter of the Canadian Condominium Institute.
