FAQ - Web Development Diploma
Do I qualify for financial assistance?
You may be eligible for assistance through Manitoba Education and Training if:
- You are unemployed and currently receiving employment insurance benefits
- You have received benefits in the past 36 months and are currently unemployed
- You have received maternity or paternal benefits within the last 60 months
- You do not have a job to return to
The funding process is done through an Education Counsellor at any of the Manitoba Education and Training offices.
You can also apply for a Canada Student Loan, Student Line of Credit, and if you have been a resident of Manitoba for the past twelve months, a Manitoba Student Loan. It is best to apply for your loan online at www.studentaid.gov.mb.ca.
Do you have a payment plan for the tuition?
Yes we do, the payments are broken down in four (4) payments spread throughout the year. Alternative payment schedules can be made for different financial situations. Tuition must be paid in full at least four (4) weeks prior to program end date.
What types of Certification do I receive?
For the Web Development Diploma (WDD) program you will receive a University of Winnipeg, Continuing Education Diploma. Upon graduation you are also eligible for up to 21 credit hours of transfer credit towards an Applied Computer Science Degree at the University of Winnipeg.
What is the size of the class?
Our classes are small; we only accept a maximum of 16 students so the student to instructor ratio is very low.
What is the attendance policy?
Punctuality and regular attendance is expected from all students.
What is the grading policy?
The grades reflect performance, written work, class participation, and attendance. A minimum of 60% is needed to pass a course and an average of 70% to meet the graduation requirements.
Is Professional, Applied and Continuing Education directly associated with the University of Winnipeg?
Yes we are, and the University of Winnipeg Senate approves all our graduates and courses.
What is included in the cost of tuition?
Included in the tuition costs are:
- An internet account
- A Unix account
- An Email address
- A UofW student card
