Just think of Paris, the City of Lights, and Venice, the city of canals, and images and sounds of extraordinary music and art come to mind. This course will explore the music of the great composers in Paris and Venice, how the music blossomed in the spirit of their day and in the context of the cities that shaped them.  We’ll hear music by composers such as Lully, Chopin, Fauré, Debussy, Ravel, Monteverdi, Gabrieli, Vivaldi, and more. We’ll also see images of these beautiful cities with their emblematic art and architecture.
