The Religious Imagination - D55 31100

This course will use an eclectic set of primary, "religious" texts from across the world, covering several millennia. It will explore diverse expressions of things "religious" in these texts, earnestly inquiring of them their stance on the human condition.
Examples of texts (in excerpts) to be studied include: The Epic of Gilgamesh, The Bhagavad Gita, The Ramayana, Confucius' Analects, the Bible, Augustine's Confessions, Dante's Divine Comedy, The Arabian Nights and "Paradise Lost."
