Andrew Gibbs: Student Success Story

I decided to attend the Masters Certificate in Project Management program to further my career. Furthermore, I had over eight years of experience working on IT software development projects and wanted to learn more about the context and best practices used in Project Management. With my busy work schedule and personal life, the Masters Certificate in Project Management program was an ideal choice as the time commitment outside of class was reasonable.

I learned a great deal in the program; much more than I expected. The instructors were all passionate and knowledgeable about their respective areas of Project Management. I was also able to learn a lot from the other students as they all came from various professional backgrounds with various levels of experience. There was a significant amount of group work and hands-on Project Management; this, along with the lecturers, material, and classroom dynamics made the program very enjoyable.

I was able to immediately apply the knowledge that I had gained from class to increase my proficiency at work. Also, I believe that employers see the value in a program such as this. Within a month of graduating, I was offered employment with another company that allowed me to move from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Napa, California. I currently work as a Systems Analyst for a beverage distribution company where I am heavily involved with Project Management. The program also provides great preparation for the PMP certification exam, which I plan to write within the next few months. The skills that I learned from the Masters Certificate in Project Management program have had a significant impact on my success. I recommend it to anyone who wants to further their career or expand their knowledge in the area of Project Management.
