Trevor Sinclair: Student Success Story

I am an IT Project Leader for Manitoba Hydro and a recent graduate from the Masters Certificate in Project Management program. My duties as an IT Project Leader require the planning, procurement, and management of financial, technical and human resources. Managing stakeholder expectations, while implementing innovative technology, for Manitoba Hydro requires many skill sets. The practical approach used in the Masters Certificate in Project Management program provided tools which are easily implemented into my day-to-day work. The knowledgeable instructors provided insight and exercises that highlighted the importance of proper planning and execution in the best way possible, by leading by example.

One of the most valuable aspects of continuing education is the vast experience provided by student peers. I learned as much from my fellow students as I did from other aspects of the program. Fellow students from a multitude of backgrounds provided unique perspectives on a common topic. I found this course to be valuable to my personal development.

As an adult student working full time, time is of utmost importance. The program is designed to ensure maximum value for the effort required. I recommend the University of Winnipeg for continuing education because it recognizes the needs of the student and works hard to provide for those needs in innovative, thoughtful ways.

I recommend this course to anyone interested in the field of program management.
