This course will provide information about and a basic understanding of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, with a focus on ADHD in school-age children.  Definitions and related statistics will be discussed, as well as practical management classroom strategies for working with individuals with this disorder.  The emphasis will be on effective classroom strategies for helping students with ADHD.

Objectives

  • To provide basic understanding of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in school-age children

  • Knowledge about ADHD, particularly in school-age children
  • Understanding of medical, psychological and educational management programs for children with attention deficits
  • Review of definitions, related statistics and some strategies
