Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility Communications, Marketing and Programming - DPS 18003

This course will explore the principles of community based social marketing (CBSM) as a tool for extending sustainability/corporate responsibility management throughout an institutional culture by fostering changes in behavior and in decision making values. Through case studies, class discussion, and practical assignments students will develop strategies for translating good intentions into concrete action within a business or organization. This will include an exploration of what steps to follow when trying to foster specific behavior changes, what types of communications tools are known to be most effective, and how to monitor and evaluate workplace programs. Students will be invited to consider the relationship between workplace behavior change programs and larger Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility systems.
