The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the theoretical knowledge required to design and conduct security control assessments. This course provides students with the foundation to collect security process data and review common methods to analyze and report assessment outputs to ensure proper escalation and management review. This course is conceptual in nature and covers examination content delivered through the ISC2 – Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
• Design and validate assessment, test, and audit strategies
• Conduct security control testing
• Collect security process data (e.g., technical and administrative)
• Analyze test output and generate report
• Conduct or facilitate security audits
