The basic purpose and usefulness of computer networks are the focus of this course. This course provides a solid foundation in the core concepts of data communication on electronic networks. It also explores different types of networks and network services, their requirements, and the myriad of networking hardware available. Focusing on the TCP/IP suite of protocols, as used on the Internet and related networks, students will learn networking and internetworking, as well. Topics will include packet structure, subnetting, architecture, and routing form.
