This hands-on course teaches students the basics of setting up their development environment, version control and familiarizes them with using GitHub to manage versions of their code.

Students will learn how to set up their GitHub account, clone a repository, create a branch, stash, commit with clear and communicative commit messages, push and pull changes, and handle merge conflicts. Students will also be given an understanding of the importance of maintaining their git repository as a portfolio of their work for employers.
