Most modern applications of any complexity are developed using an MVC framework. Frameworks help speed up development, but also help developers adhere to accepted and well-tested coding practices. Division of application concerns fall into three primary areas: Models, Views, and Controllers (MVC).
This course will explore a widely used framework and teach students how to plan, develop, and deploy a web application using this powerful framework; to create and manage databases within the environment; and to develop powerful frontend views using templates.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Set-up a development environment
- Install the framework and dependencies
- Understand how routing, controllers and views are implemented in the framework
- Create controller stubs
- Create model stubs
- Migrate (create and manage) databases and tables
- Interact with the database
- Create efficient HTML views using templates
- Create an efficient and powerful authentication system using built in modules
- Integrate third-party packages into the framework using a package manager
- Rapidly develop a powerful, database drive Web application
