Begin the admissions process by creating your account, and preparing the required documents.
Complete the online admissions form and submit your application for admission along with the non-refundable $150 application fee.
Depending on your level of education (Bachelor, Masters or Ph.d and your work experience) you may be notified of meeting the admission criteria as quickly as 2 weeks.
You must make your tuition installments by the established deadlines to confirm your seat. Note you cannot confirm your seat without submitting both the required tuition payments AND your letter from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that confirms you are eligible for a Study Permit.
As an international student you are required to purchase health insurance through the UWPACE. The payments for your health insurance is built into the tuition fees. Your health insurance starts on the first day of your program. You may purchase additional health insurance if you plan to arrive in Canada earlier or if you would like to add dependents to your coverage.
We strongly advise applicants to apply early as space is limited and demand for some full-time programs is extremely high.

Due to high application volume, we process international applications on a selective basis. We prioritize based on the academic quality of applicants and on the diversity of the international student body.

The University of Winnipeg is pleased to offer entrance scholarships specifically for international students who will be attending The University of Winnipeg for the first time in either the Spring, Fall or Winter Terms.
The University of Winnipeg President’s Scholarship for World Leaders, will be given to international students entering any of the University’s divisions for the first time – Undergraduate, Graduate, Collegiate, PACE or ELP. Applicants must have a minimum 80% admission average (or equivalent), and must be involved in activities that demonstrate leadership. To access the application, please visit Awards & Financial Aid.
The value of this scholarship is $3500 per person.
The University expects your full attendance. This is a professional program and we expect professional conduct. Full-time programs are very intense; falling behind could compromise your success. While we understand that illness and unavoidable time conflicts happen, the University expects full attendance.
Absenteeism could jeopardize your academic success as UWPACE has attendance regulations that affect your eligibility for graded standing. Failure to meet the minimum attendance requirement may result in a failing grade and jeopardize successful program completion. Absenteeism also compromises functional group work and classroom relations.

You must achieve a minimum grade of "C" or better in all letter-graded courses and receive a "P" on all Pass/Fail courses.
If you fail a course, the grade will stand on your transcript. You have the option to retake it or another authorized substitute at your own expense to meet the program requirements.
Internship is a gateway to your re-entry into the workforce and provides a tangible framework to develop hands-on work experience. Internship will help you gain confidence in skills developed through your studies and build a portfolio through real-world work assignments.
You are expected to commit a minimum of 140 hours of direct service to the internship site.
Internship approval is conditional to an exemplary attendance record and a minimum grade point of 3.0 (B or higher).
No, but it is strongly recommended. Participating in an internship can provide you with work experience, references, and contacts within your field, allowing you to enhance your resume and expand your professional network.
The UWPACE will approve an internship site based on the following criteria:
Qualified applicants apply through the prescribed internship application process based on the internship opportunities available through the University.
The internship placement is scheduled during the final month of the program and students work approximately seven hours per day over a 20-day period.
You may lose an internship due to poor job performance, lack of professionalism, or chronic absenteeism.
Internships are graded pass or fail. Internship site supervisors provide a brief evaluation to the Internship Coordinator, outlining the time committed, and possibly including feedback for the student. Once the evaluation is returned, the Pass/Fail will be recorded on the student’s transcript.
Internship site supervisors often provide direct feedback to the intern towards the end of the internship.

Yes, international students require a study permit to attend a Canadian university. To obtain an application and detailed instructions, contact the Canadian Visa Office nearest you, or visit the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website for further information. To complete the application process, you will need to contact a Canadian embassy or consulate or government representative.
In addition to the application and fee, you will be required to provide the following documentation:
Students from some countries require a Temporary Resident Visa to enter Canada. These countries are listed on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website. You do not have to make a separate application or pay a separate fee. An officer will issue it at the same time as the documentation that you will need to enter Canada as a student.
If you are planning to study in Canada for six months or less, you may study under Temporary Resident Status as a visitor.
International students changing institutions within Canada and who already hold a valid study permit are not required to apply for a new permit, but should include a copy of their visa authorization form or immigration papers with their application package.
In the acceptance package, you will receive a First Class Orientation letter that provides all the details about where to go the first day, when to arrive, what to bring, and what to expect.

The motto here is, "there is no such thing as cold weather, just inappropriate clothing." Snow can begin falling in Winnipeg as early as October and stop as late as early May.
No, the University sets program content and sets the program schedule for its full-time programs. Full-time programs are very comprehensive. Program content is determined in consultation with professional associations, business partners, instructors, and graduates who work in the industry and ongoing program review.
Courses may be sceduled anytime between 9AM to 9PM and varies by program. Courses that are scheduled for 8 hour blocks will have a one hour meal break as well as two shorter break.
Courses run for full days over 6 to 12 weeks depending on the demands in a particular course. Courses are scheduled by day of week, not time slot.
Programs are divided into five distinct blocks of courses, with the final block designated to internship placements.
One month before your program begins, you will be emailed a link to your course schedule. You will get more information about accessing your online program schedule, which includes information about study days, holiday closures, and vacation breaks.
Note: The program content and schedule is subject to change. While the University does not anticipate any changes, unexpected events may impact on a full-time program schedule. Students are responsible for monitoring the online schedule.

The workload is intense. You will have between 25-35 hours of instruction per week and should expect upwards to 40 hours of homework on a weekly basis.
As an international student you may be able to work off-campus under your study permit; however, PACE recommends that you wait several months before seeking employment in order to ascertain whether you can balance the demands of the full-time program with a part-time job. Work cannot interfere with your academic schedule and the University expects you to schedule work shifts outside of classroom hours.
All international students must have the appropriate health insurance coverage during their stay in Canada and purchase their health insurance through the UWinnipeg PACE Registration Office by the first day of class. More information about health insurance is available upon request.
