Pre-Approved Transfer Credits

Pre-Approved Transfer Credits

PACE has a list of pre-approved Transfer Credits which you MUST apply to have transferred.

Step 1

Identify if your courses are eligible for any of the pre-approved Transfer Credits.

Step 2

Ensure you have met the residency requirements for your PACE program prior to submitting a request.

According to UWPACE residency requirements, a student transferring credits from programs NOT completed at PACE (including external institutions) may transfer up to a maximum of one-third of the courses required to complete a UWPACE program. This includes PLAR.

Step 3

Complete the Transfer Request Form: Include the pre-approved course number from the list and the PACE course number for which you are requesting transfer credit.

Step 4

Submit the Transfer Request Form and required documents at time of application.

New Transfer Credits

New Transfer Credits

If you wish to transfer a course which you believe is equivalent to a PACE course, but is not on the pre-approved list, you may request an assessment.

Step 1

Identify the course you want to transfer by reviewing previous course outlines to determine if there are similarities to the content of the PACE course. It is a good idea to review previous course outlines to self-determine similarities in content and assessments as you are charged a fee for every assessment request.

According to UWPACE residency requirements, a student transferring credits from programs NOT completed at PACE (including external institutions) may transfer up to a maximum of one-third of the courses required to complete a UWPACE program. This includes Prior Learning Credits (PLAR).

Step 2

Ensure you have met the residency requirements for your PACE program prior to submitting a request.

According to UWPACE residency requirements, a student transferring credits from programs NOT completed at PACE (including external institutions) may only transfer up to a maximum of one-third of the courses required to complete a UWPACE program. This includes PLAR.

Step 3

Complete the Transfer Request Form. Ensure the institution, course name and course number you are seeking transfer credit are identified.  Include the PACE course name and number you are identifying as an equivalency.

Step 4

Submit Form and required documents at time of application.

NOTE: You MUST adhere to the Guidelines for Acceptance of Transfer Credit and ensure you submit the course outline.

Transfer Between PACE Programs

Transfer between PACE Part-time Programs

Students admitted to more than one PACE Program may be eligible to receive credit for graded course work into another program. Students must complete a minimum number of unique courses to meet program residency.

According to UWPACE residency requirements, a student may transfer up to a maximum of one-half of the courses required to complete a UWPACE program.

For example, the Management Certificate program is 290 hours in total.

  • Half of 290 hours = 145 hours, or 4 UWPACE courses.
  • This means that a student may be eligible to transfer in credits up to the maximum equivalent of 4 UWPACE courses.

Transfer Between Part Time and Full Time PACE Programs

Students requesting admittance to a full time program who are currently taking courses in a part time program can transfer a maximum of four PACE courses from a part time program to the same full-time program.

Assessments are not completed until a student's acceptance letter into the program has been granted.
