Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has introduced significant changes to the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program, including a new requirement for non-degree programs. As of June 25, 2025, international students applying for a PGWP must have completed a program in a field of study that appears on IRCC’s list of eligible CIP codes linked to in-demand occupations.
PACE has conducted a full review of our programs to assess eligibility under the updated rules. Below is a summary of our current PGWP-eligible offerings and programs under review for future alignment.
(For students applying for a study permit on or after June 25, 2025)
Program Name | CIP Code(s) |
---|---|
Advanced Project Management & Technology |
11.1005 - Information technology project management
|
Artificial Intelligence
|
11.0102 - Artifical intelligence
|
Full Stack Web Development |
11.1004 - Web/Mulitmedia management and webmaster |
The following programs are not currently on IRCC’s June 25 eligibility list. PACE is actively exploring curriculum adjustments and CIP code realignment to regain eligibility where possible:
Applied Data Analytics (30.7101, 30.7103)
Business Analysis & Transformation (52.1302)
Predictive Analytics (30.7101, 30.7103)
We remain committed to aligning our programs with in-demand labour priorities in Manitoba and across Canada. Conversations between the Government of Manitoba and the Government of Canada are ongoing.
If you applied for your study permit before November 1, 2024: You are eligible to apply for a PGWP after graduation, regardless of program.
If you applied between November 1, 2024 and June 24, 2025: You are eligible if your program’s CIP code was on the PGWP-eligible list at the time of your study permit application.
If you apply for a study permit on or after June 25, 2025: You must enroll in a program with a CIP code currently listed as PGWP-eligible.
We are dedicated to helping our students achieve their post-graduation goals and will continue to provide updates as more programs are revised or reclassified.
