Internship Spotlight: Yadira Quezad

Yadira Quezada completed a 4-week internship with Palliser in late September to complete her Human Resource Management Diploma.

Over the period of her internship, she gained hands-on experience under the guidance of the HR team at Palliser Furniture Ltd. Under their mentorship, Yadira was exposed to both the direct and indirect sides of the business.

“She worked on recruitment, employee relation issues, compensation analysis, termination forms, changes forms, updating job descriptions, exit interviews, orientations,” said Mae Dobson, HR Business Partner, Indirect.

For students like Yadira who wrapped up 12 months of full-time study, internship opportunities like this one help our students put what they’ve learned into practice and launch their careers after intensive study.

“She also worked on a large project where she created a form for employees to update/change any information that was no longer relevant, sent it out to all employees of the company, creating a tracking form for it and then work with our generalist to upload all of the information onto our HRIS”.
