Graduates with limited mobility should know that the Graduation Procession follows an extended walking path which includes stairs. If this is a concern, alternate arrangements can be made, please email pace.events@uwinnipeg.ca at least 48 hours before the ceremony so arrangements can be made.
Access to the stage involves a small number of stairs with a single handrail or a ramp. During the ceremony, you are also required to stand for an extended period before going on stage. We strongly advise students or guests who have limited mobility or accessibility needs to arrive early. Doors will open one hour before the ceremony begins.
American Sign Language-English Interpretation will be provided for the duration of the Graduation ceremony.
Seating:
The Duckworth Centre is able to accommodate many guests, and we encourage you to invite your family and friends to join you on this special occasion. RSVPs are not required and there is no admission fee. Guests with special needs (i.e wheel chair accessibility) should identify themselves to ushers at the main entrance to Duckworth for them to be escorted to a reserved seating section.
Please note that the University does not provide wheelchairs.
Guests are asked to take their seats in the gymnasium no later than 10 minutes before the ceremony begins. Late arrivals will be asked to wait until the graduation procession has entered and the anthem has completed before entering the gymnasium.
The ceremony is approximately two and a half hours in length.
