This seminar will teach students how to use various production tools, and the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) editors used by the web development industry.

Using an HTML production software, such as Adobe Dreamweaver (though specific choice of software is left to the discretion of the instructor), students will learn how to manage a site with this tool and explore ways that specific software can speed-up production time for front end web development.  Other production tools such as Adobe Edge Code, Sublime Text, and Notepad ++ or their analogous counterparts can be explored, as well.

Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Use the HTML production software site-management tools to manage existing websites and web applications
  • Import fonts using HTML production software
  • Use production software CSS capabilities
  • Use production software Git panel to manage their codebase
  • Create code using the production software code editor
  • Use the production software advanced code editor tools
  • Use templates available through the software
  • Utilize software specific development tools
  • Use production software’s WYSIWYG editor for faster page editing
