This course establishes a foundational understanding of statistical methods and techniques used in the field of data science. Essential understanding of descriptive and inferential statistical theory used in data science is established and reinforced through applied use of statistical analysis tools and programming with realistic data sets.
Prerequisites
Each course fee is paid for at the time of registration.
Outcomes
On completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply statistical mathematics used in data science and AI
- Design experiments and statistical tests to answer business questions
- Use and apply statistical methods to the analysis of data
- Test the accuracy of predictions using Monte Carlo simulation technique
- Create models which implement statistical methods using programming languages and purpose-specific data analysis tools
