This foundational course provides an overview of the principles of business intelligence and analytics. Students will explore the types of projects that can harness the power of organizational data to solve business problems. Students will gain an awareness of how the combination of business knowledge and technological tools can help organizations make more proactive, data-driven decisions. Topics will include dimensional modeling; Extract, Transform, Load (ETL); Structured Query Language (SQL); and delivering reports and dashboards to a variety of audiences.

This is an online course that will have no live class times and will be completed through independent study with assignment due dates. The Nexus course site will open 5 days prior to the first class day. The course outline will only be posted to Nexus. This course will have a condensed format and a mixture of full and part time students.
