Change Execution and Communications focuses on the key elements of successfully executing and communicating change initiatives, from ideation to implementation, and creating an understanding of what “good” execution looks like. The course covers aligning change management efforts with business strategy to achieve successful outcomes. Students will explore organizational and technological changes and study best practices to develop and execute change management using analytical and problem-solving techniques. The course will also explore the relationship between Change Management and [Corporate] Communications to engage and communicate with project stakeholders, requiring a keen understanding of the project’s needs and executive motivations, as well as the ability to report and communicate outcomes effectively.

Outcomes

On completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify the key components of effective change execution and the role of communications in change management initiatives.
  • Explain how change management aligns with business strategy to drive successful organizational outcomes.
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving techniques to develop and execute change initiatives from ideation through implementation.
  • Analyze organizational and technological changes to determine appropriate change management approaches.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of change execution strategies and communication plans in engaging stakeholders and meeting project goals.
  • Design integrated change management and communication strategies and plans that address project needs, stakeholder engagement, executive motivations, and reporting of outcomes.
