This course will focus on the tools and techniques applied in planning, estimating and scheduling construction, engineering, and architecture projects. The course will balance theoretical and practical concepts and practices through lectures, demonstrations, class discussions, exercises and assignments. Students will learn to assess the feasibility of a construction project during the initiation of the project. Students will continue to expand on their knowledge and use unit rates, apply industry trends and work through scheduling exercises. Learning activities will focus on the appraisal of a project's goals, construction methods, bid/tender assessment, including the consideration of alternative green strategies, site conditions, environment, labour, safety, and finances.
Each course fee is paid for at the time of registration.
This is an in-person course to be delivered on campus at PACE at 471 Portage Avenue. All courses will have a Nexus site that will open one week prior to the first class day.
