This course will review key concepts of cloud computing, the differences in the three core services it offers: infrastructure, platform, and software as a service, and the ways it could be used to deploy web application infrastructure in the cloud.
To build experience with cloud, students will set up an account with Microsoft Azure, or other cloud service provider, and walk through the configuration of a PaaS environment to run a web application in the cloud. Students will learn how to allocate resources get hands on experience implementing application architecture in the cloud.
Also, students will independently apply the IaaS material presented in Introduction to Cloud-Based Infrastructure and migrate their final project to the cloud. This will include launching a cloud server, transferring the application, and transferring the application database.
