This course will familiarize you with the school system and how to effectively operate within the system from an organizational and administrative perspective.  Emphasis is placed on the Educational Assistant’s role in the classroom and within the educational support team of students with special needs. Professional responsibilities of the Educational Assistant, including confidentiality and ethics, will be discussed.

Objectives
  • To provide understanding of the role of an educational assistant and introduce key responsibilities
Outcomes
  • Familiarity with the school system and how to operate effectively within it, from an organizational and administrative perspective
  • Understanding of EA’s role in the classroom and as part of an educational support team for students with special needs
  • Understanding of professional responsibilities, including confidentiality and ethics
