This course is designed to give students the knowledge they need to make appropriate data storage choices, for example, local to device vs cloud or server-based storage, for their mobile application and understand the implications to their development process. Once the appropriate data storage approach is identified, students will be introduced to the basics of syntax and variable usage of the cross-platform native mobile programming framework that they will use for the development of their mobile application, such as React Native. Students will learn Object-Oriented Programming through connecting to a MySQL database to create truly dynamic, data-driven applications.
During this course, students are introduced to the concepts of functions, encryption, regular expressions, advanced string manipulation, as well as the principals of object orientation, and more advanced techniques of integrating with MySQL while securing the code base and MySQL against SQL injection attacks.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Develop syntactically correct mobile application pages
