Congratulations on completing your program!
This page has all the information you need to officially graduate from your program.
The University of Winnipeg Professional, Applied and Continuing Education convocation ceremony will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 on campus.
Graduates with limited mobility should know that the Graduation Procession follows an extended walking path which includes stairs.
If this is a concern, alternate arrangements can be made. Access to the stage involves a small number of stairs with a single hand rail or a ramp. During the ceremony, you are also required to stand for an extended period of time before going on stage. We strongly advise students or guests who have limited mobility or accessibility needs to arrive early. Doors will open one hour before the ceremony begins.
American Sign Language-English interpretation will be provided for the duration of the Graduation ceremony.
The university engages a professional photographer to take your picture as you receive your parchment on stage. To order one of these photos, you must print and bring this form to the ceremony.
Professional Graduation photographs will be available through Life Touch. Portrait appointments must be pre-booked through Life Touch.
Note: Guests are not permitted to take photographs on the floor or on the track directly behind the stage
You will be provided with a generic blank certificate when you cross the stage. This is to ensure a smooth flow to the ceremony. Your official certificate/diploma will be mailed to you, if you have not already received it.
Certificate frames and keepsakes may be purchased after the graduation ceremony from the Alumni Association booth located on the second floor of the Duckworth Centre.
The campus bookstore will be on-site at graduation to sell souvenirs such as mugs, pens, portfolios, clothing, etc.
Light refreshments will be served immediately after the Convocation ceremony in Riddell Hall.
The Duckworth Centre is able to accommodate many guests, and we encourage you to invite your family and friends to join you on this special occasion; RSVP’s are not required and there is no admission fee. Guests with special needs (i.e. wheel chair accessibility) should identify themselves to ushers at the main entrance to Duckworth for them to be escorted to a reserved seating section.
Please note that the University does not provide wheelchairs.
Guests are asked to take their seats in the gymnasium no later than 10 minutes before the ceremony begins. Late arrivals will be asked to wait until the graduation procession has ended before entering the gymnasium.
The ceremony is approximately one and a half hours in length.
Reception Desk: Duckworth Centre Lobby
Ceremony: Duckworth Gymnasium – main floor

Guests with limited mobility may be dropped-off at the entrance of Duckworth Centre on Spence Street; however, vehicles will need to park elsewhere for the duration of the ceremony. Traffic on Spence Street is strictly limited to vehicles dropping off guests with accessibility needs or limited mobility.
