Building on the principles introduced in Strategic Communication I, this dynamic course focuses on the practical application of strategic communication in real-world contexts. Students will embark on a course-long group project to develop a Strategic Communications Plan for an actual Winnipeg-based organization, culminating in a final “pitch” presented directly to the client.
To support the development of these plans, the course will engage students with case studies and diverse current events. Key topics include corporate communications; brand building; crisis, issue, and reputation management; SC tactics; and global strategic communication. Special emphasis will be given to social media marketing and its vital role within SC. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply strategic communication principles in a professional environment.
