Julie

Rezvani

Julie Mahfouz-Rezvani is a distinguished leader with over 20 years of experience in both for-profit and non-profit sectors. An award-winning professional, she has built a reputation for her strategic vision, transformational leadership, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). In the academic realm, Julie has served as a part-time professor at George Brown College and the Toronto School of Management. At George Brown, she developed and delivered a comprehensive Recruitment and Selection course, focusing on bias-free hiring practices and the importance of DEI in recruitment. Her engaging teaching methods and the curriculum she designed were highly praised by students. Similarly, at the Toronto School of Management, Julie created an effective learning environment for Human Resources Management courses, incorporating a mix of lectures, discussions, and case studies. As the National Managing Director at The Orion Group Inc., a boutique firm she founded in 2003, she has overseen strategic vision, financial management, and inclusive hiring practices. Additionally, as a Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Consultant and HR Advisor Julie provides strategic HR guidance to corporate leadership, developing and implementing DEI strategies that align with business goals and foster a culture of belonging. Before her tenure at The Orion Group, Julie held significant roles such as Vice President of Sales at Direct Energy and Manager of Talent Acquisition at FEP Search Group Julie holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto, a Certificate in Human Resources Management from TMU (Ryerson University), and a Certificate in Adjudication from York University - Osgoode Hall Law School. She also earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University. She is currently completing her Master’s in Industrial Relations and Human Resources from the University of Toronto. In addition to her professional and academic achievements, Julie actively contributes to the community. She serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto and Vice-President of the Board of Directors for COSTI Immigrant Services, where she chairs various committees focused on DEI and strategic planning. Julie is a proud recipient of the Governor General of Canada’s Sovereign Medal, highlighting her outstanding contributions to the community.
