Tuition & Fees

$24,480:Tuition includes UWSA and health insurance fees. Costs are subject to change&. Tuition is paid over two years.

$2,000-$2,200: Textbook costs may vary depending on new, rental, used, or electronic purchasing choices. Textbooks are a requirement.

*Please note there is a fee increase scheduled for Financial Management. As of September 2021 tuition fee for this program will be $24,680.

Objectives & Outcomes

The goal of the Financial Management Diploma is to provide students with managerial, accounting and financial knowledge and skills required for a wide variety of positions in the accounting and financial industry.  Students who complete this program may wish to continue post-secondary studies in order to fulfill an accounting designation, or pursue pathways leading to undergraduate and graduate level study.

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

  • International students are required to hold a minimum of an undergraduate degree, Business or related preferred
    • A Higher National Diploma from Nigeria and Ghana are exceptions
  • The Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) or Final Percentage on these transcripts will be assessed for eligibility.
    • If a higher degree is attained (post-graduate diploma, Master’s, or PhD) the minimum GPA or Percentage must be attained in all degrees.

Work Experience

Financial Management Diploma applicants must have a minimum of one year professional work experience.

English Language Requirements

Applicants whose previous education was completed outside of Canada and where English may or may not have been the medium of instruction, must submit proof of meeting one of the accepted English language proficiency measures.

Students applying to The University of Winnipeg PACE during the COVID-19 crisis, may use the following online testing options to meet their English language requirements for applications to our 2021 programs:

  • Duolingo English Test with a minimum test score of 120, with at least a Production score of 100
  • IELTS Indicator with a minimum overall academic band score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6.0 for the writing and reading categories
  • TOEFL iBT "Special Home Edition Test" with a minimum score of 86 with no less than 20 in each component (internet-based)

The University reserves the right to request English language proficiency testing result documentation for any international applicant.

Accreditation

Graduates of the Financial Management Diploma are eligible for the following professional accreditation. Additional steps may be required.

Certified in Management (CIM)

Students graduating from the Management Certificate may apply for the Certified in Management designation (CIM). Certification is available for those that were registered in the program as of June 1, 2016.

Chartered Professional Account (CPA)

Students who have graduated from the Financial Management Diploma may be eligible for transfer credit for the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Professional Education Program (PEP). Additional steps are required.
