Larry Davidson graduated from Red River College in June 1986 with a diploma in Business Administration, major in accounting. He obtained his CGA in March 1992. In July 1986, he started at Canada Life (formerly Great-West Life) and spent 33.5 years in the investment division. Larry retired on January 1, 2020. He started teaching Corporate Finance in 2010 for CGA Manitoba and continues to do so with CPA Canada. Larry also teaches Intermediate Financial Reporting 1 and Introductory Financial Accounting with CPA Canada. Since September 2012, he has been teaching for Extended Education at the University of Manitoba, and since September 2014, he has been teaching for Continuing Education at Red River College Polytech. Teaching is something he always wanted to do, especially in retirement. Larry was excited to accept an opportunity from CGA Manitoba and hasn’t looked back. He never dreamed that his teaching career would take off as it did. This led to his decision to retire in 2020, so he could pursue more teaching opportunities. Larry loves interacting with students. When he is not working, his favorite pastime is being at his cottage with his wife, children, and grandchildren. They have a large family, and it is always a great time when everyone is together at the lake. He especially enjoys the memorable times he has with his four grandchildren.
