Jennifer has over 20 years experience in the evolving field of data. After earning a PhD in Psychology from the University of Manitoba, Jennifer started her career as a researcher and statistician, gaining experience at the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy, the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, and Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries (MBLL). During her time at MBLL, she expanded her data knowledge to strategy and planning activities in the business, as well as extending her education with a Master of Data Science from Northwestern University in Chicago. Jennifer is now guiding growth of data-informed decision making with the City of Winnipeg, as the Senior Data Scientist in the Innovation & Technology Department. Jennifer is passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion, and is the data lead in a partnership with the City’s Equity Office on the City’s Diversity Dashboard. Jennifer and the Diversity Dashboard team were selected as the Canadian participants in the Open Data Policy Lab’s inaugural City Incubator program for public intrapreneurs within cities around the world. Outside of work, Jennifer is a founding member and second president of a forming Data Management (DAMA) Chapter in Winnipeg, active member in the Manitoba Women in Tech group, and mother to three wonderful children who keep life interesting.
