Admissions Process

How to Finalize Your Seat at PACE

We have a three-step process to finalizing seats for international students offered admission to any intake.

  • Seats in our programs are limited & in high demand.
    • Programs have capacities between 15-35 students per intake!

The sooner you complete all three steps, the more likely you will secure a seat.

PACE has a three step admissions process

Step 1 - Accept Offer

Admissions Process Graphic integrated accept.png

To accept your offer pay your tuition deposit within 6 weeks of the offer

To accept an offer of admission, make your tuition deposit within 6 weeks of the date of the offer and upload your proof of payment to the admissions portal.

If you did not provide proof of English language proficiency at the time you submitted your application, you must provide a copy of your English language test score or confirmation of enrollment in an approved English language pathway program within the 6 weeks of the date of your offer.

Please log in to your WebAdvisor account for your payment breakdown and deadlines. You may view the status of your payment by navigating to the Student Finance section: Current Students -> Financial Information -> Student Finance -> View Statement. Once your payment has been received it will be posted there.

Once you have accepted the offer of admission by making your tuition deposit and providing the English language proficiency if required, you will will be issued a Letter of Admission (LOA) and provincial attestation letter (PAL) within 2 weeks (14 business days).

If you do not make the full deposit and upload your language proficiency by the deadline your file will be closed.

Accepted English Pathway Programs
  • UWinnipeg’s English Language Program – Academic Level 5
  • Heartland – Pathway 2
  • ILAC – Pathway 3.4

Step 2 - Reserve Seat

Admissions Process Graphic reserve.png

To reserve your seat, send your port of entry letter as soon as your receive it

To reserve a seat, you must send your Port of Entry (POE) letter, also known as a Letter of Introduction, from IRCC as soon as you receive it. Your POE is your study permit approval.

We recommend applying for your study permit as soon as you receive your Letter of Admission (LOA) and provincial attestation letter (PAL). LOAs and PALs are issued within 2 weeks (14 business days) of receiving your tuition deposit.

We recommend applying for your Study Permit at least 5 months before your program start date as processing times can vary.

If the program reaches capacity before we receive your POE, you may be placed on the waitlist.

Step 3 - Finalize Seat

Admissions Process Graphic finalize.png

To finalize your seat, pay your tuition balance before the deadline.

To finalize a seat in the program, you must pay your remaining tuition balance before the deadline in your WebAdvisor account.

If the payment deadline is missed, you may lose your reserved seat and the seat will be offered to a student on the waitlist.

Note: You must present the original transcripts and proof of graduation from foreign universities and present an official/certified English translation of any transcripts and degrees/diplomas in languages other than English on the first day of you program. The University may hold these transcripts for up to 30 days.

Failure to provide original transcripts and proof of graduation may result in a hold on your account and removal from the program.

Plan Your Arrival In Winnipeg

If you completed all required steps, you will receive confirmation from the Admissions Team that you have finalized your seat.

If you have completed all the steps, you will be notified that you have finalized your seat

Once you have this, you may start making your travel plans to Winnipeg for your program start.

Approximately one month before your program starts, you will receive an email from your Program Manager with more information about your program.

You are automatically enrolled in all your courses, and set up for your program.

If you are a student arriving with small children, we recommend you start to make child-care arrangements as soon as you finalize your seat. You can review our Settling In Winnipeg resource to get started. You can also watch the most recent recording our Settling in Winnipeg webinar for students who have accepted their offers of admission.

Reminder

You must present your original transcripts and proof of graduation from foreign universities and present an official/certified English translation of any transcripts and degrees/diplomas in languages other than English on the first day of your program. The University may hold these transcripts for up to 30 days.

Failure to provide your original transcripts and proof of graduation may result in a hold on your account and removal from the program.

What if my documents are under a different name?

You must present proof of name change (i.e., marriage certificates, divorce records, etc) for transcripts held under another name.
