Performance management is an ongoing process of planning, assessing, and discussing an individual’s or a team’s performance. It involves defining roles and expectations, setting clear goals, providing ongoing feedback, and aligning employee efforts with organizational goals and priorities.
High performing teams require an agile and personalized approach, emphasizing clear goals, frequent check-ins, and a human touch. This course highlights the key elements and best practices of employee-centered performance management to enhance employee success and engagement, ultimately achieving strategic objectives.
This short course is delivered in two highly engaging, six-hour sessions, providing a comprehensive understanding of performance management, equipping participants with the skills to navigate both formal and informal aspects of the process. Learners will master a feedback model essential for effective coaching conversations and explore tools for addressing performance issues among salaried and unionized employees. Additionally, the course delves into best practices for performance management in contemporary work environments, including hybrid settings.
This is an online course that will be offered in a blended format. Blended courses combine live virtual weekly lectures at a set time (see course dates) with independent study. All courses will have a Nexus site and will open one week prior to the first class day. Course outlines will only be posted to Nexus. All Zoom links will be posted to Nexus.
