Kristine Betker is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and a Certified Executive Coach (CEC), who has raised money and led teams for the small shop and large. She has raised funds in the health, heritage, social services, post-secondary and arts sectors, and in her 30- year career, has raised over $35 million dollars for the charities with which she works. Kristine has led strong, dynamic teams for over a decade, with nurturing warmth and emotional intelligence. She helps charities develop their talent by stabilizing teams, identifying gaps, and training their employees. She identifies emerging fundraisers, coaching and mentoring them, so they grow into experienced charity professionals. Former direct reports and mentees have moved on to leadership positions at Musical Stage Company (Toronto), Rainbow Resource Centre, Rossbrook House, Victoria Conservatory of Music, International Institute of Sustainable Development and St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. Kristine is also a graduate of Royal Roads University’s Graduate Certificate Program for Executive Coaching. She coaches the aspiring leader (those who may not yet know they are leaders), emerging leaders (those who are on a track to executive management) and experienced leaders. In her consulting practice, Kristine works with charities to assess their fundraising and campaign readiness. She writes their annual plans and cases for support and provides strategic counsel to their staff and senior volunteers. She teaches fundraising process to Boards of Directors and volunteer committees and helps them define their charity's "why." Articulating this elevator speech gives volunteers the confidence to advocate - and ask - on their charity's behalf. Kristine teaches AFP's Fundamentals of Fundraising and the CFRE Refresher Course. She guest lectures in the Non-Profit Management course in the Faculty of Business and Economics at The University of Winnipeg and teaches Professional, Applied and Continuing Education programs, also at the U of W. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Kristine works within an ethical structure and her memberships in the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the International Coaching Federation require her to adhere to Codes of Ethics, ensuring ethical behaviour, an adherence to best practices and a commitment to continuous learning.
