At UWinnipeg PACE, we understand the recent changes to Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) eligibility may raise concerns. The programs eligible for PGWP have been updated following changes made by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), affecting students who apply for study permits after November 1, 2024. While this shift has sparked questions, rest assured that PACE is actively advocating for the inclusion of all its programs that align with Manitoba's workforce needs.
PACE programs offer exceptional outcomes for students, with over 90% of graduates securing employment in key sectors like Financial Management, Human Resources, and Marketing, all critical to Manitoba’s economy. Additionally, 82.5% of PACE graduates choose to stay in Manitoba after completing their studies, contributing to local growth. The strong alignment of these programs with National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes ensures that graduates are well-prepared to fill in-demand positions in industries that Manitoba is focusing on.
If you are already enrolled or planning to apply to one of our programs, rest assured that we are dedicated to your success. With 22 staff members devoted to student support, you can rely on guidance from our team, including career coaching, academic advising, and immigration assistance. Whether it’s help navigating your PGWP application or securing an internship through our strong network of over 450 partner companies, we’re here for you.
In light of these changes, it’s more important than ever to stay informed. We encourage students to review the most recent updates on PGWP eligibility and consult with our dedicated staff. We are committed to ensuring your academic journey remains smooth and that your future employment opportunities in Canada are secured.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team. We’re here to ensure that these changes don’t interfere with your career goals and that you remain empowered throughout your educational experience at UWinnipeg PACE.
