Leading Change Management Certificate

The Leading Change Management Certificate equips professionals with the practical skills and strategic insight needed to guide organizations through continuous change. Built on contemporary change theories and informed by current industry demands, the program focuses on the “people side” of transformation—helping students understand how individuals, teams, and organizations adapt, resist, and ultimately adopt new ways of working. Through applied learning, students learn to lead change initiatives, support leaders and stakeholders, and align change efforts to organizational goals.

Students gain hands-on experience with real-world scenarios, diagnostic tools, communications planning, and execution frameworks. The curriculum emphasizes emerging trends shaping modern workplaces, including digital transformation and the impact of new and evolving technologies on change practices. Students also examine ethical considerations, organizational readiness, leadership behaviours, and strategies to reinforce adoption and sustain results.


Delivered fully online in a a part-time format, this 120-hour certificate includes three core courses and a focused seminar on emerging technologies.

Ideal participants have prior post-secondary education and experience working in environments where change is constant and strategic leadership is essential.

Program Objectives

The Leading Change Management Certificate is designed to build the practical skills, strategic mindset, and leadership capability required to guide organizations through continuous and often complex change. The program develops students’ ability to understand the human dynamics of change, assess organizational readiness, and apply structured approaches that support successful adoption. Through applied coursework, students learn to plan and execute change initiatives, foster stakeholder engagement, address resistance, and align change strategies with organizational goals. Emphasis is placed on clear communication, ethical decision-making, and the growing influence of emerging technologies on how change is designed and delivered. By the end of the certificate, students will be able to confidently support leaders, teams, and projects in navigating change with clarity, consistency, and measurable impact.

Graduates of this program will be able to:

  • Analyze workplace scenarios using major theories and models of change.

  • Explain foundational concepts, key processes, and best practices in change management.

  • Apply systematic approaches to plan, reinforce, and evaluate change initiatives.

  • Capture feedback, diagnose challenges, and implement continuous improvement actions.

  • Examine the communication planning and execution required to guide stakeholders through change.

  • Assess organizational capabilities and infrastructure that support effective change management.

  • Evaluate the benefits, limitations, and risks of emerging technologies in the workplace.

  • Identify ethical issues related to new technologies and organizational change.

  • Understand the impacts of change at the individual, team, and organizational levels.

Admission Requirements

  • Be a high school graduate or hold a Mature Status Diploma.
    • MUST provide High School Transcript or recognized equivalent GED or Mature Grade 12 Diploma.

OR

  • Be 18 years of age or older and have completed 90 hours of coursework or more at a recognized post-secondary institution (including UWPACE) with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
    • MUST provide an official transcript for all previous post-secondary study (including university, CEGEP, or private college).

English Language Requirement

Applicants whose previous education was completed outside of Canada and where English may or may not have been the medium of instruction, must submit proof of meeting one of the accepted English language proficiency measures.
