Advanced Project Management & Technology Diploma

Develop advanced expertise in project management and how cutting-edge technologies can drive success in today’s complex project environments. This program provides a robust analytical framework and practical tools for budgeting, scoping, modeling, measuring, reporting, and integrating technology into project workflows.

Aligned with the knowledge requirements of the Project Management Professional (PMP)® and Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certifications, this program goes beyond foundational skills to include courses focused on emerging technologies, innovation, and strategic project leadership.

Graduates are equipped to manage dynamic projects across industries, leveraging technology to deliver efficient, scalable, and measurable results in an ever-evolving business landscape.

    $10,900: Tuition cost includes the $100.00 UWSA Fee. Costs are subject to change.*

    $2,500 - $3,000: Textbook costs may vary depending on new, rental, used, or electronic purchasing choices. Textbooks are a requirement.

    Duration

    12 months in duration, Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm.

    Two breaks of one week throughout the program and two weeks off for winter break.

    Hybrid Program

    This program follows a blended learning model, combining in-class sessions, live online instruction, and scheduled online coursework to create a dynamic and adaptable educational experience.

    Courses are carefully structured to balance in-person interaction with the convenience of online learning. Live online sessions allow students to engage with instructors and classmates in real-time, while scheduled online coursework provides flexibility in when they complete assignments within set deadlines. The number and format of online courses may vary based on program needs and scheduling.

    This multi-modal approach ensures that students stay connected with their peers and instructors while developing essential workplace skills such as digital collaboration, adaptability, accountability, and effective communication. While students must follow the program’s set schedule, this blended format allows them to engage with learning in different ways, whether attending classes on campus, participating in live online discussions, or completing coursework independently.

    Objectives & Outcomes

     

    The Advanced Project Management & Technology Diploma program prepares graduates to excel as project managers and equips them with advanced skills in integrating technology and analytics into project workflows. The program provides a comprehensive foundation based on recognized bodies of knowledge, best practices, and emerging industry trends, enabling graduates to lead innovative and effective project management strategies.
     

    Outcomes

    • Plan and Execute Projects: Develop and implement project work plans, define project scope and deliverables, allocate resources and staffing, establish project milestones, create budget proposals, and successfully close a variety of projects.
    • Master Procurement and Contract Management: Gain in-depth knowledge of the procurement life cycle, including contract laws, potential legal issues, methodologies for developing and managing procurement specifications, documents, and contracts, and best practices for vendor selection.
    • Enhance Communication and Reporting: Design effective project communication plans that ensure seamless stakeholder and team collaboration. Leverage a variety of advanced reporting tools, and templates to support communication throughout the project life cycle.
    • Manage Risk and Change: Create detailed risk profiles and develop strategies to mitigate risks and manage changes in project scope. Protect organizational interests by proactively addressing liabilities and minimizing disruptions.
    • Lead Collaborative Teams: Build and foster high-performing teams through collaborative relationships. Clearly define roles and responsibilities, proactively manage conflicts, and create a dynamic environment to drive project success.
    • Leverage Technology and Analytics: Utilize the latest project management technologies and analytics tools to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enable data-driven decision-making for innovative project delivery.

    Admission Requirements

     

    Admissions Requirements

    • Be a high school graduate or hold a Mature Status Diploma.
      • MUST provide High School Transcript or recognized equivalent GED or Mature Grade 12 Diploma.

    OR

    • Be 18 years of age or older and have completed 90 hours of coursework or more at a recognized post-secondary institution (including UWPACE) with minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
      • MUST provide an official transcript for all previous post-secondary study (including university, CEGEP, or private college).

    Work Experience

    • Applicants with a degree must have at least one year of work experience, with part-time work being acceptable.

    • Applicants without a degree must have a minimum of three years of work experience.

    English Language Requirements

    Applicants whose previous education was completed outside of Canada and where English may or may not have been the medium of instruction, must submit proof of meeting one of the accepted English language proficiency measures.

    Accreditation

    Management Certificate accredited by Chartered Managers Canada (CIM)

    Students graduating from the Management Certificate may apply for the Certified in Management designation (CIM).

    Tech Requirements

    Students must have a laptop that meets the tech requirements for their program (not included in tuition).

    ⚠️ Tablets are not recommended for use in any program. Some required software may not be fully compatible with tablets, particularly Android devices. Students should ensure they have access to a laptop that meets the specifications below.

    • OS: Windows 11 (64 Bit) Pro or Home version (Windows 10 would be accepted).
      Note: Windows should be up to date (e.g. 23-24H2)
    • Processor: 12th Gen Intel core i5+
    • Graphics: A strong graphics card is recommended for IT and programs that require multimedia design (e.g., NVIDIA GeForce technology); for other programs, an Intel graphics card (e.g., Intel Iris Xe Graphics) is recommended.
    • Memory (RAM): 16+ GB, DDR4+.
    • Hard Drive: 500+ GB, M.2, PCIe NVMe, SSD.
    • Connectivity: Intel Wi-Fi 5-6 AX201, 2x2, 802.11ax, Bluetooth wireless card, HDMI, USB type A and Type C.
    • Should include an HD (720P+) webcam for Zoom classes.

    • MacOS: Ventura or later
    • Processor: Apple’s M1, M2 or M3 chip with at least 8 Core CPU.
