"The education you're getting is industry-specific and it's what industry is demanding today," says Rebecca Peech, a proud graduate of the Public Relations, Marketing & Strategic Communications program at PACE. Having completed her studies in August 2021, Rebecca has rapidly advanced to the role of Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility & Communications at Dufresne Spencer Group, LLC dba Ashley.
Rebecca’s journey at PACE was both challenging and enriching, perfectly aligning with her career aspirations. She credits the program with providing the necessary tools to enhance her extensive experience in project management and problem-solving. "My experience at PACE was unique. However, it was what I needed at the time to launch my career into what it is today," she reflects. The high-quality instruction and practical experience gained at PACE allowed her to hone critical skills essential in today's competitive workplace.
Currently overseeing communications teams and corporate social responsibility programs across Canada and the U.S., Rebecca applies her refined skills daily. Her role involves strategizing and implementing initiatives that promote diversity, inclusion, and community value—principles that she passionately supports. "I was able to take a lot of the experience that I had from work experience but also hone some of those skills that I knew I needed to home in order to be competitive," Rebecca explains.
A lifelong learner, Rebecca's decision to return to school amid the pandemic was driven by her passion for communication, planning, and strategy. This decision was profoundly validated as she not only excelled in her studies but also received the International Association of Business Communicators Award for Academic Achievement, a testament to her dedication and skill.
Rebecca's advice to current students is clear and encouraging: "Just to keep at it. Know that the education you're getting is industry-specific. It's what industry is demanding today, and it's going to help you." Her journey exemplifies the impactful education provided at PACE, designed to equip students with the skills necessary to thrive in specialized fields.
At PACE, we are immensely proud of Rebecca Peech’s accomplishments and her ongoing contributions to her field. Her success story is a powerful endorsement of our commitment to fostering professional growth and excellence. "PACE gave me everything I needed to know to understand the Canadian culture and diversity within the workplace," says Juan Pablo Fernandez, who graduated with an Advanced Business Management Diploma in December 2023 from PACE. Originally from Costa Rica, Juan Pablo has successfully transitioned into his role as a Financial Analyst at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
Juan Pablo describes his experience at PACE as a transformative journey that compelled him to reassess and deepen his understanding of business management. "And I say it is a journey because you need to self-discover and be more self-aware of everything you thought you knew, but in the end, you realize that you don't," he reflects. This journey of self-discovery was pivotal as it equipped him with the critical tools to navigate and succeed in Canada's business landscape.
Currently, Juan Pablo applies his extensive 17 years of banking and finance experience in his role at the provincial government, particularly in the healthcare sector. His work involves strategic financial planning and advising, tasks that benefit greatly from the rigorous training and insights gained at PACE. "PACE has been an incredible journey for me," he acknowledges, highlighting how the program prepared him to understand and integrate into the Canadian workplace effectively.
Juan Pablo also cherishes the personal connections he made during his time at PACE. "The best part is that it gave me a group of friends and a network that are going to accompany me for the rest of my life," he shares. These relationships have become a lasting and supportive network, reflecting the vibrant and diverse community at PACE.
Juan Pablo's story is proof of how PACE not only educates but also nurtures and develops its students into well-rounded professionals who are ready to tackle the challenges of their respective fields. His journey from Costa Rica to Winnipeg exemplifies the global reach and impact of PACE's programs, preparing graduates to thrive in diverse and dynamic environments.
At PACE, we are proud to have played a part in Juan Pablo's professional and personal development. His success is a powerful endorsement of our commitment to providing a comprehensive education that respects and incorporates global perspectives and cultural diversity. We celebrate Juan Pablo Fernandez's achievements and look forward to continuing our support for all our students on their journeys to professional excellence.
